Accounts function for a long time and are never disabled. I have successfully tried to log into 50,000 accounts from one IP address without any problems.
These accounts ONLY allow you to view mail and change passwords. They are not intended for sending emails or using other functions.
Although the accounts do not support IMAP, they do have an API for reading emails. (Login and click "API" to learn more)
